Across the Potomac River from Washington D.C., lies this nation's most sacred of grounds, Arlington National Cemetery. Upon these hollowed grounds are buried some of our nation's finest from as far back as the Revolutionary War to today. Some 310,000 men and women call Arlington their final resting place. Here lie two of our nation's Presidents, honored statesmen, explorers, literary figures, Chief Justices, and Astronauts. From our Generals and Admirals to the common soldier and sailor rest here as do some 3,800 former slaves who fled to freedom call Arlington their home. It is their stories that beg to be heard, stories of courage against insurmountable odds, of love of brother and country, and of sacrifice. Stories of hopes and dreams and choices made during adversity. It is thru these stories that we to can learn that one person can make a difference and that thru valor and bravery the course of this country and the life of each and every one of us has been changed. These noble souls, who reside here, still live with us, and bid us to think of life, not death and to listen and learn what they have done who now rest in Arlington.

Arlington Anthology Field of Honor Ron MacDonald 9781478769675 Books Reviews

I read many different stories of many men who died in battle, and their bravery. Each war offered death in many different ways. I liked the fact that I got to read about the history of each man just a little. I liked reading the different things that these brave men had to go through. This isn't just about one war, its our history of brave men who gave their all for us to have the freedoms that we all have now.
Because I have neither purchased nor read the book, I did not want to give a star rating, but it is required for submitting a review. Two stars was a random choice, with no intention to denigrate the author's work. This might be an enjoyable read, but I am disappointed by the disclaimer found in the preview. "This is a work of fiction. The events and characters described herein are imaginary and are not intended to refer to specific places or living persons."

I am leaving the site without purchase. The presentation I heard about this book was as researched material. Learning here that the characters and events are imaginary has ruined it for me.
Ron Wrote an outstanding book and gave many details regarding Arlington that I was not aware of. He presented a talk to both my Rotary Club and American Legion Post that was entertaining and very well received.

If you need a presentation for your service club, I highly recommend that you use Ron and have him talk about his great book Arlington Anthology.
Ron really appears to have accomplished his knowledge and task of giving his readers a good understanding of what it's like to die in war time and if you were any kind of a hero, like Audie Murphy, a person like this who is honored by receiving the Medal of Honor, can actually end being buried with honor at Arlington. I really liked Rons way and style of writing this book.
Ron is an Amazing writer, the stories of heroism often brought me to tears, the great sacrifices these people made in the name of freedom, this book should be a must read in high school.that freedom comes at a great price, the people in this book gave the ultimate price. make me proud to be an American, God bless the men and women who risked and gave there lives for our great country, the white markers on an endless field of graves, each story should be know, that would be close to impossible, but Ron Macdonald has mad America proud ,reminding us the true price of freedom. these are stories of average people who went above and beyond to defend freedom for every American, those markers in Arlington cemetery there not just graves there where heroes lye . rest in peace thank you for your sacrifices
This was okay but not what I thought it would be. I thought the author was just going to write about some of the military in Arlington which would have been more interesting to me.
Excellent read. A must have for any history buff.
Excellent book, well researched and written.
It puts a very personal edge to military and American history. A must read.
